Overview of the job
Event and Production Management

Support the Culture & Library Development Manager on the management and coordination of events provision within Culture & Libraries.

Lead on the safe delivery of the Culture & Libraries event programme including Redbridge Outdoor Arts, Fabula Festival, Black History Month, Day of the Dead and Christmas.

These events take place in outdoor spaces, venues and libraries in the borough including Ilford Town Centre, Ken Aston Square, Valentines Mansion, libraries and parks.

Key duties include leading on administration of town centre and outdoor
spaces applications to the council, applying for Temporary Event Notices,
drafting Risk Assessments, producing Method Statements, and collating
relevant health and safety documentation from artists.

You will also lead on artist liaison, checking through artists’ technical
requirements and documentation, conducting site visits in person or virtually, booking accommodation, raising invoices, and drafting contracts.

Leading on recruitment and management of casual staff, sourcing contractors, and developing the seasonal volunteer programme for the Culture Team.

Planning and delivery of the Culture
& Libraries event programme
This will involve:

Managing the overall safe delivery of the Culture & Libraries Development event programme, leading on health and safety, including risk assessments and event documentation, and event schedules and procedures to ensure timely delivery.

Site managing events including co-ordinating the equipment set up and acting
as the first point of contact for casual event staff, contractors, artists and
volunteers.

Ensuring events are delivered in line with industry guidance and HSE, sourcing
competitive infrastructure, assessing staffing requirements and volunteer roles.

Researching and developing cost effective infrastructure solutions to support the delivery of events.
Artists LiaisonThis will involve:
Communication with artists, drafting contracts, discussing tech specs,
requirements, and payments

Being the first point of contact for artists on-site, being responsible for the
welfare of artists throughout the duration of the event including get-in and get-out and pre and post event liaison
Infrastructure & equipmentThis will involve:
Being responsible for pick-up and delivery of event equipment, keeping
inventories up to date and managing the event store
RecruitmentThis will involve:
Recruiting and managing event casuals, volunteers, and event contractors
