Christmas Singing Competiton

We are looking for 10 contestants to sing on stage at the Ilford Christmas light switch-on, on Saturday 27th November 2021. Sing alongside the Voices of Redbridge Choir & Voice finalists So Diva. You will receive a song pack for you to learn the required songs and a rehearsal session with the Voices of Redbridge Choir. 10 winners will be announced on 21st September 2021. Participants must be available for two rehearsal days in September and October & available on the 27th of November between 11am and 5pm.

Terms & Conditions

The competition is open to all, including children and young people from 10 years and above.
10 lucky winners will be selected to participate in our Voices of Redbridge Choir and perform on stage to the community on Ilford High Road on the 27th of November 2021.
Participants will receive a song pack for rehearsing on their own and must be ready to join two in person rehearsals at City Gates Church in Ilford on Clements Road.

How to enter

1. You can enter via email to admin@ilfordbid.com
2. Acceptable file formats include MP4, FLV, MOV and AVI.
3. Files must be no more than one minute in viewing length and no shorter than 45 seconds in viewing length. You must state your name and age at the beginning of the video
4. Email your entries to admin@ilfordbid.com and include your name, age, social media handle, email address & mobile number.
5. You must sing directly to the camera a song which you like the most

Competition rules

1. Your video must be original and your own.
2. Your email must provide confirmation that the video submitted is your own original work and give authority to us to display your submission. Please state this explicitly or else your entry will not count!
3. You must have parental permission and state so in your email if you are under the age of 18 to participate.
4. Entries must be received by midnight on Monday 13th September 2021. No entries to the competition will be accepted after the closing date.
5. Winners must be available on the 27th of November to attend Ilford High Road to participate in the event between 11 am and 5 pm
6. Winners must also be available to attend two rehearsals on the 19th and 26th of November
7. Winners must commit to rehearsing the songs in the music pack on their own
8. Winner must be willing to wear the prescribed uniform or outfit for the event day. This will be limited to a choice of colours to wear. Responsibility for this sits with the winners and performers.
9. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason and we cannot return any entries.
10. There is no entry fee to enter this competition.
11. Winners will be chosen by a panel selected by Ilford BID and City Gates Church.
12. The winners will be notified by email and/or phone within 7 days of the closing date.
13. There is no monetary or voucher reward.
14. Ilford BID’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
15. The winner agrees to the use of his/her/their name in any publicity material.
16. No inappropriate submissions will be accepted and all submissions must be suitable for public display and child friendly.
17. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions, including the display of works submitted.
18. Ilford BID is not responsible for any infringement on copyright or plagiarism. The responsibility will sit firmly with the winners of the competition.
19. Travel and sustenance costs are not the responsibility of Ilford BID.
20. Ilford BID is not responsible for the acts of any contestants or winners either in the past, present or future.
21. Ilford BID accepts no responsibility for not being able to make contact with winners at the contact details submitted within 7 days.
22. The songs sung at the event or during rehearsals are copyrighted and are not owned or affiliated with Ilford BID.
